The University of Essex and Beaconhouse International College have expanded their transnational education partnership thanks to the launch of a new campus in Pakistan.
The opening of BIC’s new Karachi Campus will mean more students will have access to a range of courses offered under the partnership.
This extension adds to the provision currently available to students in Islamabad, Faisalabad, and Lahore, which launched in 2024. Essex will be the lead UK provider from the Karachi site.
Dr Annecy Lax, Essex’s Dean of Partnerships (Education), said: “Karachi is a city of ambition and talent, and we are delighted to extend an Essex education there with Beaconhouse International College.
“This launch expands our academic offer in Pakistan and brings Essex learning within reach of more students who are ready to shape their futures with confidence.”
Students who complete one of the courses associated with BIC and Essex are awarded a University of Essex degree.
The full duration of study is completed in Pakistan.
The courses offered under the partnership postgraduate level Master of Business Management (MBM), MSc Applied Data Science and LLM International Commercial and LLM Business Law, then at graduate level LLB Law, BSc Artificial Intelligence, Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) and BSc Accounting and Finance.
These are being established through links with the University of Essex’s internationally-renowned departments including Essex Business School, Essex Law School, School of Computer Science and Electronic Engineering, and School of Mathematics, Statistics and Actuarial Science.
Beaconhouse Group is one of the biggest education providers in the world with more than 300,000 students based in eight countries across Asia, the Middle East and Europe.
