Our Experience Essex Online event is the perfect opportunity for you to learn more about studying at Essex. This event is for anyone who is interested in studying an undergraduate or postgraduate course.

 

Throughout the day you'll have opportunities to engage with students and staff online, watch and listen to sessions covering a range of topics, and to ask questions. There are talks for UK students and from people all around the world, as well as mature learners, and parents, guardians and carers. You can attend as many or as few as you like - just pick any sessions that interest you!

Our Experience Essex Online events are the perfect opportunity for you to learn more about doing a degree at Essex. These events are for anyone who is interested in studying an undergraduate or postgraduate degree at Essex.

What's the schedule for the day?

9.00 - Session for international students from South East Asia

This session is for students from South East Asia to learn more about finance and funding, including our regional scholarships, student life on campus, including information about our societies, and what life is like away from the campus. Student ambassadors from the region will also be taking part in this session.

10.00 - Welcome to Experience Essex Online

In this session you will receive a warm welcome from the University, as well as an overview of live and on-demand sessions available during the day. This session will give you the insider info on how to get the most out of your experience. This session will be repeated at 13.00.

10.30 - Student accommodation talk

In this session we'll talk about the accommodation we have available for students. There will be an introduction from our Accommodation Essex team (who run all of our accommodation on campus) as well as a panel featuring students who live in the different types of accommodation we have on campus. This session will be repeated at 15.30.

11.00 - Session for international students from China

This session is for students from China to learn more about finance and funding, including our regional scholarships, student life on campus, including information about our societies, and what life is like away from the campus. Student ambassadors from the region will also be taking part in this session.

11.30 - Student finance talk

In this session we'll talk about how you can finance your studies. We'll cover who is eligible for loans and bursaries how you can make an application for student finance, and we'll go over a range of Frequently Asked Questions. You'll be able to ask your own questions via the online chat function. This session will be repeated at 15.00.

12.30 - Student development and employabilty talk

In this session we'll discuss the employability modules which are embedded into many of our courses, the work placement opportunities which are optional for some courses, as well as the student development services that the University provides in order to improve the employability of all of our students.

13.00 - Session for international students from India

This session is for students from India to learn more about finance and funding, including our regional scholarships, student life on campus, including information about our societies, and what life is like away from the campus. Student ambassadors from the region will also be taking part in this session.

13.00 - Welcome to Experience Essex Online

13.30 - Study abroad talk

This session is for anyone who is interested in studying abroad at a different university in another country during their degree. We'll discuss the partnerships we have with other universities around the world, and will describe the application process to apply to study abroad at another university during your degree. We'll also have a panel of student who'll discuss their experience of studying abroad.

14.00 - Student support and wellbeing talk

In this session we'll introduce you to the support and wellbeing services that we have available for our students, both in-person and online.

15.00 - Session for international students from the Middle East and North Africa

This session is for students from the Middle East and North Africa to learn more about finance and funding, including our regional scholarships, student life on campus, including information about our societies, and what life is like away from the campus. Student ambassadors from the region will also be taking part in this session.

15.00 - Student finance talk

In this session we'll talk about how you can finance your studies. 16.00 - Why Essex? Student panel

This session will be led by our students. They'll discuss why they decided to study at Essex and why they think you should study with us too!

17.00 - Guidance for parents, guardians and carers

This session is designed for parents, guardians and carers of other people who are planning to study at Essex in 2022 or beyond. The content will be tailored specifically to give you the information you need.

17.00 - Session for international students from Europe 

This session is for students from Europe to learn more about finance and funding, including our regional scholarships, student life on campus, including information about our societies, and what life is like away from the campus. Student ambassadors from the region will also be taking part in this session.

18.00 - Session for mature learners

This session has been specifically created for mature students (a mature student at undergradate level is someone who is over the age of 21). In this session we'll discuss alternative routes into education, student finance that's available for mature learners, the suppport services available for mature learners, as well as student development and employability.

20.00 - Session for international students from the Americas

This session is for students from North, Central and South America to learn more about finance and funding, including our regional scholarships, student life on campus, including information about our societies, and what life is like away from the campus. Student ambassadors from the region will also be taking part in this session.
