Developing Effective and Sustainable Corporate Governance Systems
The International Corporate Governance Society (ICGS) will hold its 5th annual conference at Essex Business School, University of Essex, to discuss how effective corporate governance systems can prevent future financial crises.
The conference will bring together researchers investigating the role of banks, other financial firms and international businesses in corporate governance, including in emerging economies. It will provide a forum to reflect on the effectiveness of recent regulatory reforms, as well as the importance of business integrity and ethics in generating long-term, stable economic growth.
The event will take a comparative and interdisciplinary approach to critical corporate governance topics and enable delegates to build connections with experts working in the area.
Essex Business School conducts high quality research into corporate governance issues from a range of perspectives, including the banking and financial sector, international business and emerging markets.
On the day before the main conference, The ICGS Doctoral Colloquium will offer doctoral students and early career researchers the opportunity to present their work and obtain feedback from corporate governance scholars. The colloquium is open to students who have successfully completed at least two years of their PhD programme, as well as early career researchers who completed their PhD a maximum of three years ago.
The conference takes place at our Colchester Campus. Colchester is an hour away from London by train and is accessible from all London airports.
