Financial Fragmentation and Challenges for SMEs' Financing

The Essex Finance Centre warmly invites you to attend this workshop on financing fragmentation and the challenges for SMEs' financing which is being held at the Essex Business School.

After a long period of harmonisation and integration of banking markets in Europe, the recent crises inevitably brought about a change in priorities and resulted in weakened cross-border inter-bank lending and greater home-biased asset portfolio of banks.

This workshop gives opportunities for leading academics and policy makers to discuss the effects of Brexit and fragmentation of banking markets on SMEs’ financing. New challenges and opportunities of SMEs’ financing are also discussed in light of the EU policy agenda that includes the creation of a Capital Markets Union.
