Module description

This module develops students' holistic assessment skills for a range of patient presentations. The module will focus on the common approaches to physiotherapy led assessment, whilst highlighting the variations required when assessing different patient groups.

Module aims

1) To develop holistic assessment skills for a range of patient presentations.

2) To facilitate the learning of common approaches to physiotherapy led assessment, whilst highlighting the variations required when assessing different patient groups.

Module learning outcomes

On successful completion of this module, the student will be able to:

1. Critically explore the approaches and components of ongoing physiotherapy led assessment.
2. Demonstrate an ability to undertake an appropriate safe, effective, holistic and adaptable assessment of a patient.
3. Communicate clearly in a well-structured manner to convey complex information and ideas, adapting the message to the requirements and level of the target audience.
4. Demonstrate accurate note keeping which is congruent with legal and professional expectations.
