Assessment

Formative assessment

Students will be required to submit a mock test during the spring term, in week 19. This will not be graded, but feedback and guidance will be given as to how this could be improved in the future. The purpose of the formative assessment is to ensure that students become familiar with not only the test in week 23 but also prepared for exam style-questions.

Summative Assessment

- Accounting essay, (1,000 words, 25%) -the first essay assesses students' understanding of accounting by analysing performance of a real company using accounting knowledge gained in the autumn term.

- A 90-minute online finance test (25%) - examines students' understanding of corporate finance material covered in spring term.

- A 24-hour take home exam (50%) - the take home examination includes questions covering any of the topics taught and included in the syllabus.

Reassessment strategy

Failed Coursework - resubmit a 24-hour take home exam which will be marked as 100% of the new module mark. The reassessment task will enable the relevant learning outcomes to be met.
