In this module the student engages at a professional level with the process of producing and directing a production of his/her choice.
The module offers help with logistics and financial planning, as well as tutor support at all stages, but the student is expected to be independent in all aspects of the production process. The module brings into play many skills studied elsewhere in the programme.
The main aims of the module are:
1. Directing within a professional environment
2. Establishment of concept/ interpretation
3. Physical realisation in design, acting, sound
Knowledge and understanding of and ability to demonstrate:
1. Roles and functions of all participants responsible for creating theatre
2. Relationships between theoretical and practical challenges to directors
3. Methods of production planning and preparation
4. Translation of complex theoretical models to practical application
5. Rehearsal techniques
6. Guidance of acting
7. Oral and visual presentation of ideas

- In-person, open book: Your exam will take place on campus under invigilation. You may refer to any physical materials such as paper study notes or a textbook during the exam. Electronic devices may not be used in the exam.
- In-person, open book (restricted): The exam will take place on campus under invigilation. You may refer only to specific physical materials such as a named textbook during the exam. Permitted materials will be specified by your department. Electronic devices may not be used in the exam.
