Dr Kay Gilliland Stevenson


Kay Gilliland Stevenson taught at Essex from 1974 until retirement in 2003. Her research interests range from fourteenth century English poetry, and its relationship to medieval French poetry, to the literature of the seventeenth and early eighteenth centuries. Author of Milton to Pope: 1650 -1720 (2001), she is co-author of Heaven and the Flesh: Imagery of Desire from the Renaissance to the Rococo (1995) and of Paradise Lost in Short: Smith, Stillingfleet, and the Transformation of Epic (1998).
