Introduction
Welcome to the Department of
Literature, Film, and Theatre Studies. We combine expertise in literature,
creative writing, film, and theatre studies. In our Department you will be able
to study English literature and to put it in dialogue
with postcolonial writing, the classics,
and literature from Europe and the Americas. You will be encouraged to acquire a
deeper understanding of different cultural contexts by enriching your study of
literature with the study of film, theatre, creative writing and the history of
ideas. Every step of the way you will be supported by friendly and committed
teachers who are also leading scholars in their field, and affirmed poets,
novelists, playwrights and filmmakers.
