Learning and Development is part of
Human Resources. We provide training and development opportunities for all groups
of staff at the University and are committed to developing a supportive and stimulating
workplace. A range of courses and resources are available which are tailored to your
roles and responsibilities. These will guide your career planning and help you to recognise
the depth and breadth of your talent. As a team we bring together expertise in personal,
professional and academic development.

Retention conference
Join us at the conference to explore the activities and findings of the
University’s work with mature students. The work at Essex will be located in the local and national context through presentations from colleagues
at Colchester Institute and Queen Margaret University.
GRADschool
Organised over three intensive days, GRADschool is a fantastic opportunity for doctoral students in their second year or
later to have the space to think about their future in a stimulating and supportive environment.
