Here to help you kickstart your career

Alumni can access career support for life.  If you're unsure about what's next for you, or know what you want to do but aren't clear on how to take the first steps, our Careers team are here to help.

As a graduate, as well as all of our online resources, you can book one-to-one appointments with our Careers Consultants. They’ll work with you to help you work out the next steps to get you where you want to go. Contact us for more information.

Accessing CareerHub

As a graduate, you can still access most of the career resources you could as a student. Everything is on CareerHub, but you need to log in slightly differently.

Select ‘Graduate’ and click on ‘Reset your password’ - you'll need your PRID which is the same as it was when you studied here. If you can't remember what it was, contact the alumni team

Graduate Outcomes survey

Graduate Outcomes is the biggest annual social survey in the UK, capturing the activities and perspectives of graduates. You’ll be invited to take part around 15 months after you complete your course at Essex.

The survey takes around 10 minutes to complete online and gives you a chance to have your voice heard. We need your responses to allow current and future students to make informed choices and to help us evaluate and promote our courses.

How to know the survey is genuine

You will receive an email invitation from universityofessex@graduateoutcomes.ac.uk. You may also receive SMS messages from ‘GradOutcome’, or a call from IFF Research, who have been appointed to capture survey responses by phone. They will introduce themselves as calling on behalf of the University of Essex.

Making sure your contact details are correct

To support the survey, we are required to hold accurate personal contact details for you to enable the Graduate Outcomes team to contact you directly about the survey.

Please make sure your contact details are up to date

How the survey is managed

The survey will be delivered by the Graduate Outcomes team which is part of the Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA) on behalf of the higher education funding and regulatory bodies and higher education providers.

The funding and regulatory bodies commission the Graduate Outcomes survey and require HESA and higher education providers to work together to deliver the survey. HESA have published privacy information for students on how your contact details will be used.
