School of Health and Social Care

The School of Health and Social Care is working in partnership with the Institute of Social & Economic Research (ISER) to offer one PhD studentship within the Centre for Coastal Communities. This programme will look at differences in young people’s mental health between coastal and inland areas. A major focus of the work will be exploring the drivers of these differences. This could include social determinants, environmental characteristics, health and social care, and migration, to name a few.

The studentship will be offered to an outstanding early stage researcher to conduct longitudinal quantitative research. This studentship provides an exciting career opportunity for an ambitious researcher on an under-researched area of keen policy interest.

The successful applicant will receive a full PhD studentship to support you, including full Home UK tuition fee discount for three years of study, and a living costs stipend at the UK Research and Innovation recommended level per year.  The stipend for 2024-25 is £19,237.
