Off-campus emergencies

Emergency and non-emergency contact details for first aid or incidents requiring security or police attendance are listed below. Add the phone numbers for your residence and/or campus to your mobile phone, so you have them to hand.

In the event of a serious incident on a work placement, study placement, field trip or business trip in the UK or overseas you should: 

1. Follow emergency procedures for your location, then
2. inform your departmental contact as soon as possible, or
3. if an incident occurs outside normal office hours, call 01206 872125 and patrol officers will alert relevant University staff

Travellers should also ensure they have emergency numbers for the University’s travel insurance providers, which should be obtained by completing a Travel Application Form (Essex users only).
