Diamond Jubilee Course

For our 60th Anniversary in 2023/24, we have taken the opportunity to take a fresh look at the course, to retain the very best elements of the course and refresh the rest. The new Diamond Jubilee Course designed by Disc Golf UK has a variety of terrains, hole lengths and shot shapes that will challenge all levels of player. On the Colchester Campus we offer a host of very accessible amenities open most days of the week, including food choices, toilets and showers.

The design philosophy is to offer players a world class experience: maximising all the advantages of a course set in an absolutely beautiful and historic English parkland setting; offering a big start, a mid-course challenge and delivering one of the most memorable finishing stretches in UK disc golf; and the course layout incorporates five unforgettable signature holes.

What is world class about the new course?

  • The new Diamond Jubilee Course maximises all the advantages of a course set in an absolutely beautiful and historic English parkland setting.
  • The Diamond Jubilee Course has a big start, a mid-course challenge and a memorable finish.
  • The Diamond Jubilee Course layout incorporates five signature holes offering players a memorable experience:
    • Hole 5: A signature hill side hole that will grow in personality over time.
    • Hole 10: This is a monster parkland hole uniquely embracing the Constable parkland fauna and flora.
    • Hole 12: The Tunnel Shot is a memorable hole especially when the trees are in leaf
    • Hole 16: The Lake Hole. An epic water hole full of risk/reward challenge
    • Hole 18: This is one of the best finishing holes in British Disc Golf. A long and challenging Par 5 that incorporates open and wooded shots as well as elevation change.
  • The new Diamond Jubilee Course layout provides an excellent day-to-day course, but it has been designed to allow easy tournament challenge extensions. The extensions can easily be implemented for tournaments and for events the dressing of the course will enhance the DGPT nature of the course.
  • The Diamond Jubilee Course Course layout has an additional short tee on Hole 5 to cater for a short beginner/intro 9 hole layout (comprising holes 1-4, short 5, 6-8 and short 9). The short layout avoids the Lake Hole reducing the risk of lost discs and is also perfect for a quick lunch break round.
  • We have enhanced each of the tees on all course holes for a great tee off experience.
  • The new Diamond Jubilee Course had enhanced general signage and signage for each hole offering full colour maps are attached to steel ground posts and tee maps.
