Funding your research

Our Doctoral Training Partnerships (DTPs) offer you skills training and funding for your postgraduate research. Join one of our DTPs and you'll work alongside leading academics in your subject.

Our three partnerships are funded by UK Research Councils, or other bodies, and have various names such as Doctoral Training Centres, Centres for Doctoral Training, or Doctoral Training Partnerships. They all offer you the same benefit: gain the skills and knowledge needed to tackle key issues facing our world today.

ARIES
ARIES offers studentships covering a range of research topics in these areas: ecology and biodiversity; marine, atmospheric and climate science; geosciences, resources and environmental risk; environmental genomics and microbiology; and agri-environments and water.
CHASE
CHASE offers studentships in the arts and humanities, including art history, film, history, human rights, languages, law, linguistics, literature philosophy, politics, sociology, and theatre studies.
SENSS
SENSS offers studentships to support interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary research and training across six themes: Digital social sciences; Resolving uncertainty and addressing crises; sustainability and climate emergency; health, wellbeing and social care; justice, institutions and social change; advanced methods for social and economic research.
