Undergraduate

Previous university/college study is required in addition to local high school qualifications for our Undergraduate Bachelor degree courses.
We accept a number of international qualifications, including the International Baccalaureate with the majority of our courses requiring a grade between 29 - 32 or the SAT with the majority of our courses requiring a minimum of 1100 out of 1600 with 550 in each test.

Postgraduate Taught

Many of our Postgraduate Taught Masters will consider applicants with a Cambodian Masters degree with a minimum CGPA of 2.5. We can also consider students with an undergraduate degree with CGPA 2.90/73%/B or above if the degree was awarded by one of the approved universities (Royal University of Phnom Penh; University of Cambodia; Pannasastra University of Cambodia; Royal University of Agriculture; Paragon International University). Some courses and departments have higher entry requirements as well as other admissions criteria. Postgraduate Research 

For entry to Research degrees, please refer to the entry requirements for the degree that you are interested in. 

An undergraduate degree equivalent to a UK 2:2, and a master's degree with a good grade (see the information above) is required for most PhD programmes, in addition to a well-developed research proposal in a field in which we can offer supervision. Please have a read through our information for research degree applicants and check the course details for your chosen programme for further information about entry criteria.

Our South East Asia Scholarship scheme offers scholarships worth £3,000 for undergraduate students from South East Asian countries. In order to qualify for this scholarship, applicants must actively make Essex their firm choice by 15 September 2024. The undergraduate Essex Global Partner Scholarship offers a 20% tuition fee discount for each year of enrolment at Essex to students joining us from our partner Paragon International University.
