To celebrate our Women in STEM Scholarship we are running a Masterclass series to give prospective students from Brazil the opportunity to sample an academic taster in STEM subjects at Essex!

 

Join us for a free online course with academics and meet with current Essex students from our School of Mathematics Statistics and Actuarial Science and School of Computer Science and Electronic Engineering.

'An introduction to Data Science' by Dr Ana Matran-Fernandez.

Tuesday 12th March - School of Mathematics, Statistics and Actuarial Science

15:30 -17:00 (GMT)

"How does data science affect industries? Is data science the next ‘big thing’?" by Professor Stella Hadjiantoni.

What is the power of Data Science? Why does it matter? In this webinar, we are going to discuss through various examples how Data Science can add value to different businesses, organisations and public bodies.

Women in STEM Scholarship

If you're an international student from Brazil and self-funding your postgraduate studies in a STEM subject, you could be eligible for a full tuition fee discount to relevant courses in our School of Mathematics Statistics and Actuarial Science and School of Computer Science and Electronic Engineering.

The Women in STEM Scholarship is intended to cover all associated costs with studying the programme that includes a monthly stipend and return flights from Brazil to the UK plus more. Please see terms and conditions for full details including eligible courses, entry requirements and the application process.

This scholarship is exclusively for women from Brazil but, of course, anyone with an interest in studying a Masters in a STEM subject may join this Masterclass series.
