Scavenger hunt

If you’re joining us at Essex this October, then why not take part in our scavenger hunt for your chance to win vouchers for our campus food outlets. It’s also a great way to explore campus and learn more about the exciting facilities and range of teams you have access to here at Essex.

How to take part:

  1. Read through the questions for your campus.
  2. Take a picture at the answer to the questions.
  3. Submit at least one picture to #OfficiallyEssex and let us know which campus your photo is from.

Colchester Campus Questions

  1. As ‘Home of the Rebels’, which location on campus also promotes the student supporters group ‘The Tribe?
  2. How many individual, open compartments does the Paternoster have?
  3. More than one tonne of carbon is saved per day through which building’s energy efficient design and low carbon technologies?
  4. What percentage of our undergraduate graduates are in employment?
  5. What is the SU service on Square 3 where you can drop by to ask questions, buy your bus pass, submit your prescription and get help if you’re lost?

Southend Campus Questions

  1. Who arrange student events throughout the year? (karaoke, crafting, quizzes, the Game Night, Southend Beach Clean, and social mixers)
  2. What percentage of our undergraduate graduates are in employment, and where might you find the team who can help with this?
  3. Which University state-of-the-art theatre was once a Victorian gothic church?
  4. Where can you get help with advice, support and information for topics across your time here at Essex?
  5. What is the name of the art gallery on campus, where you can indulge in an afternoon of inspirational contemporary visual arts, thematic performances, and film screenings?

Loughton Campus Questions

  1. The sign on the door of the Student Services Room in Rodings features which British pop group?
  2. Which East 15 alumna starred in the Netflix comedy-drama series Sex Education (2019–2021)?
  3. Who founded the East15 acting school?
  4. Where is the social hub of campus – a place to buy your lunch, hang out and meet people at SU events?
  5. How many rehearsals rooms are there at Roding House?

You must have an essex.ac.uk email to win. The competition closes at 00:00 on 17 October 2023. Winners will be announced on 19 October on our Instagram stories.
