Take our Academic Integrity Masters Preparation course

You can start this course whenever is convenient, but we encourage you to take it before starting your Masters degree in January in order to get the most out of it.

The purpose of this course is to help you develop an understanding of the approach to knowledge ownership taken at the University of Essex and the relationships between plagiarism, referencing and academic integrity. It will provide you with a solid foundation in order to study your course and reach your objectives in 2022.

You can sign up for the course now by following these simple steps:

  1. Register with 'Open Essex', which is the online platform that this course is hosted on. You’ll need to select ‘Create new account’ at the bottom of the page.
  2. Confirm your account by clicking the link in the email that you'll be sent.
  3. Enrol on the course by logging into Open Essex and clicking ‘Enrol now’ on the course.

Please be aware that if you have already registered as an Essex student, you can use your new Essex account to sign in; if not, you can use any email address to register. You will be asked to enter your Postgraduate Application Number or PRID (which you'll receive when you register as an Essex student).
