Important information about door access when returning to campus

For security reasons, access to doors that require your staff or student card to open them expires after 30 days if not used.

If you have not been on campus for some time, it is likely that your door access has now expired and you will need to visit an update point to reactivate your access.

Where to find an update point

You can find card updaters at the following locations:

  • Outside the Campus Security and Safety office on Square 3
  • Multi decked car park stairwell, where the former pay station was

How to use an update point

  1. Hold your staff or student card against the card reader for ten seconds
  2. The card reader will flash blue, blue, blue then green

Your card is now updated.

If you need help

To avoid any inconvenience when accessing doors, we recommend you visit an update point at least once every 30 days.

If your card stops working for any reason, please use an update point first to update and then check your access again before emailing to report any faults.
