What is Clearing?
Clearing is an ideal way for you to find a place at University if you haven’t met the conditions of your offers or would like to change to another course. It allows us to fill up any vacant places we still have left on courses here at Essex, so there’s still a good chance you will grab a spot on another course.
Can I enter Clearing?
You can enter Clearing if:
- you don’t get the exam results you need to meet the requirements set out by the Universities of your choice
- you applied through UCAS after 30th June and are automatically entered into Clearing
- you change your mind about your University choices and want to apply to a different course or University
Where do I start?
If you already have your exam results but you have no offers, you can use Clearing from July. It’s the final opportunity for applicants to find a university place. You’ll know you’re in Clearing if your UCAS track status says ‘You are in Clearing The first thing to remember is to stay calm.
