ESRC IAA funding schemes

Funding awarded by the ESRC, through the Impact Acceleration Account2 (IAA2), supports impact activities and knowledge exchange by our academics to contribute to economic and societal development.

Active Engagement Fund

Impact Fund

Thank you for your interest in the Impact Fund scheme. This IAA scheme is now fully committed and we won’t accept any further applications.

The application process

Please note, all applications for both funds should be submitted by email to iaa@essex.ac.uk.

Out of call applications

Under exceptional circumstances IAA will consider applications to the Impact Fund, outside of the usual cycle of funding calls. Out of call applications will be accepted where:

• The application is made for funding to enable a further, related, application to an external process.

And
• Where there is a time limitation which negates the possibility for applying via the standard IAA funding opportunities 

Currently within scope for applications out of call are applications for IAA funding to enable future applications to:

• Parliamentary Office of Science and Technology (POST) Parliamentary Academic Fellowship Scheme (Open Call)  – Please contact iaa@essex.ac.uk if you intend to seek IAA funding to support an application to the POST Open Call. You can apply to IAA if you are invited by POST to submit a Detailed Application in September 2020, following the initial Expression of Interest stage.
• POST Parliamentary Academic Fellowship Scheme (Directed Call)  – interested parties can only apply to IAA before submitting an application to POST under the Directed Call. Please contact iaa@essex.ac.uk as soon as possible if you intend to apply to the Directed Call.
