Staff mobility

As part of a programme for professional development, Essex Abroad currently has a number of Erasmus+ mobility grants available for you to undertake a short teaching exchange or training placement in a partner university or enterprise in an Erasmus Zone Country. You must be a permanent academic, administrative or technical member of staff to get involved.

Use the exchange finder for more information on opportunities. The grants are generously funded by the European Commission's Erasmus+ programme, and are intended as a contribution to the costs associated with a period of teaching or training in Europe or selected Partner institutions outside of Europe.

Outgoing staff

Staff Teaching Assignments (STA)

Staff Teaching Assignments may take place only at a partner University - i.e. a university where an active Erasmus+ Bilateral Agreement is already in place. It is expected that at least eight hours of face-to-face teaching is delivered for an STA of less than one working week (use the exchange finder tool to search for current available opportunities).

Staff Training Placements (STT)

Staff Training Placements are available for the purpose of professional development. Permitted activities include job shadowing, practical training, short secondments and study visits. Placements may take place at any university or enterprise (except EU/EC institutions or home country diplomatic posts). Attendance at conferences is not eligible.

If you'd like to participate in a Staff Training Placement but don't have something specific in mind, opportunities are advertised regularly.
