Get together and get active

The British Inspiration Trust (BRIT) is an inclusive initiative supporting young adult mental health and fitness in the UK through the delivery of its annual challenge, whilst raising vital funds for local, regional and national charities

How the challenge works

Teams can be made up of students, staff or alumni. You just need to get some peers, colleagues or friends together, pick a captain and register your team. Individuals can also sign up, and if you'd like we'll place you into a team.

The next challenge will run over 4 weeks starting Monday 6 February 2023 and ending Sunday 5 March 2023. Once entered we’ll be in touch with the captains and participants prior to the challenge with more details of how to record miles etc.

Once the challenge starts any self-directed movement (walking, jogging, cycling, hand-bikes, swimming etc.) you do during the week can be submitted via our quick and easy mileage submission form and if you want to be entered for any of the weekly prizes or challenges, we’ll ask for some sort of evidence – that’s it!

Join the BRIT Challenge 2023

University of Essex, Essex Sport, and the SU are joining forces to take on the BRIT Challenge 2023!

We're excited to be delivering another BRIT Challenge for 2023. We're looking for teams to enter across departments, SU sports clubs, SU societies, and many other groups that you choose. Individuals can also enter and if you'd like to be, we'll place you into a team #NewYearNewChallenge

The challenge runs between Monday 6 February 2023 to Sunday 5 March 2023. Only miles moved between those dates can be counted.

This is a great chance to get together and get active.

Charities we will be supporting are; BRIT (British Inspiration Trust) and Nightline.
