We hold an A-Level History Conference Day annually with a programme that compliments the curriculum, gives tips for exams, and introduces students to the experience of studying History at University.

Join us to experience what it might be like to study History at Higher Education level, the kind of courses available, and the experience you would get studying in the Department of History at the University of Essex.

The event will usually include an introductory session, as well as topical and interactive sessions with our expert academics so that you can get a feel for what studying will be like and where it can take you. There will also be a chance to find out about employability options and hear from a current student. A confirmed programme for the event will be available in the run up to the event each year. Please do get in contact with us if you are interested in the event and would like to find out more.

The event is open to groups from schools and colleges, as well as individual prospective students.

This years event took place virtually in April 2021, and the programme can be found below as an example for future events. We welcome topic recommendations from schools, so if you are looking for a particular subject to be included to compliment your curriculum at the next event, please do get in contact with us.
