Join us to explore courses within Hospitality and Events at undergraduate level and learn more about the experience of studying at university.
Spend a virtual morning with us to find out about the different courses on offer, the benefits of studying a hospitality degree and the unique experience you will get studying with us at Edge Hotel School.
The Edge Hotel School at the University of Essex provides industry-led hospitality and events management degrees with hands-on experience at Wivenhoe House, a fully-commercial 4* hotel, as well as a unique selection of degree structures to suit all students. The School has an unparalleled focus on connecting its students with industry employers through networking and careers events.
The morning will include an introductory session, as well as topical and interactive sessions with our expert academics so that you can get a feel for what studying will be like. You will also be able to hear from some of our current students and alumni to find out first-hand what it is like to study with us and where it can take you. This event is open to groups from schools and colleges, as well as individual prospective students.

This interactive session will give students the opportunity to fulfil the roll of the hotel’s new General Manager and will be tasked with coming up with financially viable and customer friendly sustainability initiatives in different departments of the hotel.

|11am - 11.45am||Taster Lecture – Making Money in Hotels, Restaurants and Events
This session will explain some of the most effective ways of improving profits in different organisations across hospitality. It will explore food and beverage management, energy costs, staffing, resourcing, budget management and more.

|12pm - 12.45pm||Taster Lecture – Managing Events
This session will dive deeper into the Events Management side of our courses, leading on a Case Study of delivering and planning a large-scale event such as the Brits.
