4.45pm - Supporting Care Experienced Young People on their HE Journey
Katy Hudson, Become
Care leavers who complete their course are just as likely to achieve a first or upper second class degree but statistics highlight that those who are care experienced are far less likely to enter HE than other young people. This session raises awareness of the issues faced by care-experienced young people and the potential barriers they may have to access higher education. Alongside this, we will highlight good practice that supports care experienced young people into university and during their degrees and hear some top tips for professionals shared by care leavers themselves.
5.30pm - Final thoughts
