The University is offering a £500 cash bursary to support students from School membership Plus (SMP) UK schools and colleges* progressing into higher education.

Eligibility

Our bursary is available for students from SMP schools applying for undergraduate courses who make the University of Essex their firm choice with UCAS by 15 July 2022, and register with us for the academic year 2022-23. For a full list of SMP schools please see the Terms and Conditions.

To be eligible you must meet all of the following conditions:

  • Complete your studies at one of our Schools Membership Plus schools/colleges in 2022
  • Make the University of Essex your firm choice with UCAS by 15 July 2022
  • Progress directly from your studies at one of the named schools membership schools/colleges
  • Register for your first year of study for a full-time undergraduate degree at the University of Essex in starting in October 2022

Students who aren't eligible

The following students are not eligible for this award regardless of meeting the above criteria:

  • Students on Higher/Degree Apprenticeship courses
  • Students with direct entry into the second year
  • Students studying online distance learning courses

How to apply

There is no application process; bursaries will be automatically paid if you meet the eligibility criteria, which is identified at the process of application to the University.
