The Fellowships are aimed to support researchers and academics from developing and transitioning countries to develop capacity, research skills and expertise in data science and analytics, working collaboratively with researchers and academics at the University of Essex under the programme of work of the UNESCO Chair in Analytics and Data Science, Prof Maria Fasli. This is a competitive award for academics and researchers to undertake a short-term period of research and development in the field of data science and analytics. Such awards are typically arranged for up to two weeks.
Applications are open until 30 April 2018 for visits to be undertaken by 31 July 2018.
This short-term fellowship opportunity will provide a researcher or academic with the opportunity to work in collaboration with academic and research staff at the University of Essex to develop research capacity, expertise and skills in data science and analytics.
Applicants are expected to make a proposal for the purpose and content of their visit.

This opportunity is open to all academics and researchers from developing and transitioning countries (as defined by the United Nations) who have a track record of academic output, as demonstrated in peer-reviewed literature, and a strong commitment to quality research outputs. Applications from Early Career Researchers (ECRs) typically within five years of being awarded a PhD are also welcome.
PhD students are not eligible for this opportunity.
We cannot accept applications to either our Southend or Loughton campuses, this opportunity will be based on the main Colchester campus only.

The UNESCO Fellowship opportunity covers travel and subsistence expenses of up to a maximum of £2000 and can be used to cover:
