Postgraduate Taught Experience Survey

Take part in the Postgraduate Taught Experience Survey

What is the PTES?

The Postgraduate Taught Experience Survey (PTES) is the only UK higher education sector-wide survey to gain insight from taught postgraduate students about their learning and teaching experience.

The PTES gives you the opportunity to provide open and honest feedback on your experience of postgraduate taught study at Essex, your course and your department. It considers your motivations for studying your chosen programme and your experience, where relevant, of undertaking a major project/dissertation.

How do I take part?

The survey is now open, and eligible students will receive an email with a link to the survey between February and April.

For every survey completed we'll donate £1 to charity and you'll be entered into a prize draw to win £100 worth of vouchers.

What happens with the results?

The anonymised results of the survey allow us to continually review our postgraduate provision and the reflect on the ways we can enhance the postgraduate student experience.

The results do not inform league tables but allows prospective students the opportunity to compare our postgraduate provision with that of other institutions, helping them to make a valuable and informed choice about their future.

Let's do this!

As of Tuesday 18 February 2020, two weeks into the surveys campaign for NSS, UKES and PTES, we’ve raised £1,391 for the three local charities in Colchester, Southend and Loughton.

That’s £1 donated for every survey completed.

But we really want to reach our target this year and exceed last year’s if we can! You can help just by completing your survey if you haven’t already done so.
