Mallika Tamvada is a Doctoral Candidate at the Law School, University of Essex. Her research areas are Corporate Social Responsibility and Business and Human Rights. She teaches EU law and has worked on impact studies for the Law School. She has a Masters in Law from the University of Houston, USA, and a BA LLB (Hons.) from Maharshi Dayanand University, India.
Before joining Essex, Mallika worked at the Jindal Global Law School and Amity University where she taught contract law, company law, law on securities and financial markets, labour law and business law subjects to undergraduate, masters and MBA students. Previously, Mallika has worked on commercial law matters while working with Indias leading corporate law firm, Kochhar & Co. She practiced Commercial and Constitutional laws at the High Court of Delhi and Supreme Court of India. She also worked at the offices of D V Sitaram Murthy, former Advocate General of Andhra Pradesh High Court, where she focused on corporate, labour and land law matters. For a brief stint, she worked with YMCA international in the United States of America and rendered her services on refugee resettlement, asylum and Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) cases.
