Natasha has been working within HHS at the Southend campus since the beginning of the academic year in 2009. She qualified as a Registered General Nurse in 1996 in West Essex and worked within surgical specialities within this locality until 1999. Following this, she relocated to the Southend area and worked to ward manager level within Surgical Specialities and HDU until 2003 when her career progressed into practice education. She has undertaken the role of a practice education facilitator from 2003 2005 and then worked as a practice development nurse in clinical practice at Southend University NHS Foundation Trust until joining the university in 2009.
Natasha has a BSc in Specialist Practice (in Surgery) and also has a PGCE and is currently in the process of completing the MSc in Medical and Clinical Education. She is a registered teacher with the NMC. She has a keen interest in practice based education and has presented at various international conferences following her work with the development of newly qualified staff nurses both educationally and within clinical practice. She is currently a module lead for Nursing Skills, Biosciences and Interprofessional Working. In addition to this, to complement her teaching portfolio, Natasha has an interest in the development and teaching within the clinical skills arena and also is very interested in developing on line resources to support learning.
