Biography

I am an Elearning Developer and part of the University's Technology Enhanced Learning Team (TEL). The TEL team works to improve the students' learning experience at the University through intelligent use of technology for learning and assessment. I work with Academic departments and Professional Services teams across the whole University. I have more than 25 years experience teaching in schools, Further and Higher Education. I started my career as a teacher in the Western Isles of Scotland teaching Computer Studies and also spent several years teacher training in south east Asia before settling in Suffolk. Before coming to this University I worked as a Digital Technology Lecturer and as a learning technologist. I joined Organisational Development at Essex in 2015 and have broad experience of working with academic teams to develop digital skills and resources and to support teaching and learning. I have Senior Fellowship with AdvanceHE.
