Profile
Biography
I've been working at the University of Essex on under and postgraduate programs in the field of social work since 2012. I currently help coordinate placements, sourcing providers offering opportunities to students and woring with practice educators. I have a good deal of experience in curriculum development and design and led the development team for the MA program validated and approved by the regulating body in 2019. I occasionally work as an independent consultant with local authorities and third sector organisations where I provide bespoke CPD programs and support for a variety of areas of practice, in particular, the dynamics of vulnerability and exploitation. I am also a director of the Violence and Vulnerability Unit, a Home Office sponsored national team delivering targeted support to local areas adversely affected by gangs, county lines drug networks and the associated violence and exploitation of vulnerable people. At the VVU I am responsible for the maintenance and provision of an online platform of training materials offered as part of Locality and Strategic Review processes.
