Biography

I am a Qualified Social Worker, registered with Social Work England. I graduated with an MA Social Work (Distinction) from the University of Kent in 2020. I am also a Qualified Early Years Professional having achieved the Early Years Professional Status (EYPS), now Early Years Teaching Status from the Teaching Agency in 2012 and the MA Early Years from Canterbury Christ Church University in 2013. I was part of the pilot programme New Leaders in Early Years, designed to equp exceptional graduates with leadership and management qualities to lead practice in the Early Years. Following on from that, I have worked with Children aged 0-5, supporting speech and language development in the early years and also designed and delivered a play and communication programme at the Heathway Centre, a specialist centre for children with disabilities. I have also supported families identified under the Troubled Families agenda. As a Social Worker, I have worked with Children in Care and Adults with Learning Disabilities and Autism. My research interest is Brain Injury and I am part of a research group of academics with an interest in brain injury related social work research. I am a trustee of the Brain Injury Social Work Group. I am also passionate about preparing students for placements and practice.
