Phytoplankton Faces the Future: Changes in communities subject to environmental change

My research focus is the investigation of phytoplankton communities and how they respond to environmental change. I am investigating whether phytoplankton can adapt to novel conditions at the rates of current climate change, if predictions about community responses can be made from single-species experiments, and how competition between algae species changes along environmental gradients and whether the outcome can be predicted.
