Jack Mitchell

Biography

Jack is an interdisciplinary PhD student based in both the Department of Psychology and the School of Sport, Rehabilitation and Exercise Science. Jacks research explores body image perception within sport and exercise populations. Jack is using EEG to investigate how visual processing mechanisms contribute to body representation across these populations. Jack is a Graduate member of British Psychological Society. Jack joined the Department of Psychology at Essex in 2018 on a fully funded Faculty of Science and Health Doctoral scholarship. Before that Jack completed a BSc in Psychology at Nottingham Trent University and an MSc in Sport and Exercise Psychology with Brunel University London. Aside from his studies Jack is employed by the University as a Graduate Laboratory Assistant and is a Sport Psychology Consultant working towards chartered status with the British Psychological Society (BPS).
