Biography

Slava Jankin Mikhaylov is a Chief Scientific Adviser to Essex County Council, working on embedding data science and artificial intelligence in public service delivery. He is a professor of public policy and data science at University of Essex, holding a joint appointment in School of Computer Science and Electronic Engineering Institute for Analytics and Data Science and Department of Government. He received a bachelors degree in Economics from Belarus State Economic University and a PhD in Political Science from Trinity College Dublin. He has previously worked at University College London and London School of Economics. His research and teaching is primarily in the field of machine learning and natural language processing.
