Slava Mikhaylov is a Chief Scientific Adviser to Essex County Council, a position he assumed in 2017. He is a professor of public policy and data science at University of Essex, holding a joint appointment in Department of Government and Computer Science Department Institute for Analytics and Data Science. He received a bachelors degree in Economics from Belarus State Economic University and a PhD in Political Science from Trinity College Dublin. He has previously worked at University College London and London School of Economics and Political Science. His research and teaching is primarily in the field of machine learning and natural language processing.
