Charles Kirk is a PhD candidate in the Human Rights, Big Data and Technology Project. His research focuses on the use of big data within elections and its impact on and consequences for human rights. He has a particular interest in the use of new technologies and social media to better ensure and improve the democratic process. He is a qualified solicitor, having spent over ten years working in the capital markets in London and Tokyo, and has first class LLMs from the University of Cambridge (European Law) and the University of Essex (International Human Rights and Humanitarian Law). He is currently a Graduate Teaching Assistant for the Public Law module.
