Essex Babylab invites parents with babies, parents-to-be, and anyone interested in baby development to monthly Coffee Mornings where we share research insights and practical tips to facilitate positive baby development.

Many parents often feel that they need to read parenting textbooks and follow specific rules to be good parents. We want to help them recognise that they have all it takes to be the real experts of their own baby. By sharing science-based information and up-to-date research discoveries, we aim to show that there's no clear 'manual' to follow during your journey into parenthood.

Each month, the Babylab Coffee Mornings will feature a specific theme. This month we will be talking about baby sleep. Why do babies wake at night? How does sleep help learning? What we can do to help sleep (and what doesn't help much)?

We will be joined (virtually) by Dr Teodora Gliga (University of East Anglia) who will give us insights from the latest research on sleep and learning. The workshop will be run by Karina Luz Moore from Calm Sleep, a baby and child Holistic Sleep Coaching working in north-east Essex, Suffolk and online.

Not been to an in-person event with your baby? Don’t worry, a lot of people are in the same boat. We have set up a supervised play area, and we do not expect babies to be quiet throughout the event.

Admission is free, and all are welcome. Light refreshments will be provided.
