Borders and Boundaries: Tension and Imagination is an experiential learning event designed to support reflection and insight, at a time of uncertainty and complexity.

At personal, group and societal levels how we understand and negotiate borders and boundaries has a profound impact on identity and relationality. How do we balance the desire to preserve the continuity and integrity of the “known”, whilst finding the courage and imagination to encounter the “unknown”?

This event is for all those interested in exploring these matters.  Discovering the opportunities and boundaries of the conference, enables participants to think deeply about issues of role, personal authority, followership, and the place of group culture. The weekend consists of a range of small group, large group and inter-group events which provides space to reflect on the impact of the individual on others and the impact others have on the individual, in a managed context.

The conference makes use of group relations methodology. It is designed and delivered by staff and associates of the Department of Psychosocial and Psychoanalytic Studies, University of Essex.
