Making Sense of Academia - and Academics

Understanding how your courses and modules are put together, and what exactly it is that lecturers do

Your years of study can be more pleasant, painless and productive if you understand more about how universities function.

This workshop will give you insights into issues such as how the modules you are taking have been designed and approved; how modules fit together into courses and degrees; why those who teach you spend so long putting together handbooks and reading lists, and what lecturers actually do when they are not giving lectures.

Our workshops run all year round at our Helpdesk in the Silberrad Student Centre, and cover all aspects of academic skills, maths and statistics.

Have a browse through the sessions that are available this term, or pop along to the Helpdesk to find out more.
