Come along to the Postgraduate Open Evening where you’ll be able to chat to academics, learn about funding and finance and see if Essex is right for you!

At our Postgraduate Open Evening, you'll be able to find out the answers to all of this, plus more. Warm yourself up with a hot chocolate and free cake, chat to academics one-to-one, meet other prospective students and get a feel for postgraduate life at Essex, and if you are new to Essex you can also discover our campus on a guided tour.

Travelling to us


You’re welcome to arrive any time from 4.00pm onwards, and the evening will officially finish at 7.30pm.

When you arrive head straight to the Ivor Crewe Lecture Hall, where the evening will be based. We’ll only ask for your name so there’s no need to bring anything with you.

Getting to us by car

Whether approaching the University of Essex from London and the South or Ipswich and the North via the A12, take the exit marked Colchester (A133). Follow the A133 towards Clacton, ignore the entrance to the Knowledge Gateway, continue along the A133 then take the B1028 for Wivenhoe before turning right into Boundary Road. Follow the signs on campus to the car park and then to the Ivor Crewe Lecture Hall.


Please follow the ‘PG Open Evening Parking’ signs which will lead you to the car park. The address of our Colchester Campus is:

Getting to us by train

There are frequent trains from London Liverpool Street to Colchester with connections to Ipswich, Norwich, Felixstowe, Harwich and beyond.
