"Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world." - Nelson Mandela
The Centre for Social Work and Social Justice (CfSWSJ) strives to be a trailblazer for social work education in the UK. Our main aims are:
We take a global perspective when learning about, and responding to, some of the most urgent challenges that individuals, families and societies face in a rapidly changing world. This means comparing and contrasting social work practice around the world, learning about the impact of social, economic and political issues globally, and providing our students with opportunities to experience placements abroad. We work with a range of partners to ensure we're responsive to global social issues.
The complexities of social problems that social workers deal with require excellent education, innovative research and a strong commitment to issues of social justice. We are committed to providing an outstanding educational experience for all of our undergraduate and postgraduate students, and aspire to be centrally involved in conducting innovative research and influencing social work agendas nationally and internationally.
