Department of Economics Research Seminar Series

Students sitting in a lecture theatre

Join leading scholars of economics as they present their research

The Department of Economics Research Seminar Series showcases the latest thinking in economics.

This seminar series will feature presentations across all fields of economics that are of general interest. Our aim is to promote the academic discourse and communication across fields and to update scholars on frontier research and recent work in the various sub fields.

This series will include an equal mix of internal and external speakers. Our internal speakers will feature members of the Department of Economics and the Institute for Social and Economic Research at the University of Essex. The goal of internal seminars is an exchange of ideas, to provide feedback on work in progress and to foster collaboration within the Essex economics community. The goal of external seminars is to learn about exciting current research at other universities and institutions, and to cultivate interaction with top academics around the world.

These seminars will be presented via Zoom and will be held on Tuesday afternoons between 4pm and 5pm. This is an open seminar series and all levels of study and members of the public are welcome. In order to gain access to the Zoom meeting and reserve your place, please contact our seminar organisers.
