International panel research conferences for ISER
More than 120 international delegates attended the 2005
British Household Panel Survey (BHPS) and EPUnet Research Conferences on
campus. Organised by the University's Institute for Social and Economic
Research (ISER), the biennial conferences, which ran concurrently, provided a forum for the
exchange of research based on the BHPS.
The BHPS is Britain's premier household panel survey,
interviewing some 10,000 adults in 5,000 households annually. It is run by
the ESRC-funded UK Longitudinal Studies Centre in ISER. EPUNet is the
EC-funded network for users of the ECHP and is coordinated from ISER.
Plenary speakers this year included Dr Andrew Clark
of Paris-Jourdan Sciences Economiques and Professor Giorgio Brunello of
the University of Padua. In addition, there were 48 contributed papers and
a roundtable on current issues in panel studies led by speakers from major
household panel surveys around the world.
