Children clamour to
see the Queen
Pupils from Elmstead Market Primary School were inspired by the
invitation from the University to see the Queen when she visited in
November.
Eighty of the youngsters entered a poetry competition run by the school
to help them choose the lucky group who would see the royal visitors,
including one pupil who wrote a musical composition.
The Editors of Wyvern particularly liked the poem by Alice, reproduced
below:
Her Majesty the Queen
Is coming to town
I wonder
Will she wear a crown?
I've been to London
To see her house
When I stand in front it of
I feel as small as a mouse!
If her flag is flying
I think the Queen is at home
I wonder
Does SHE answer the phone?
I've been to the Tower
For a good look around
Her jewels are lovely
I bet they cost more than a pound!
On world history day
We had to impress
So I chose the Queen
And wore a long dress
So please Mr Middleditch
Please pick me
For it's the Queen
I'd love to see
If I marry Prince William
The Queen I will be
And the whole school will come
To OUR house for tea!!!!!
