Fiona runs again!
Following on from her success in the 2002 London Marathon
Fiona Embleton has recently completed the world's largest half-marathon,
the Great North Run, in just over two hours.
Fiona, of the Academic Section, trained three times a week in
preparation for the 13-mile race, regularly running between eight and 11
miles at a time. She crossed the finish line after two hours and 20
minutes of running and is delighted to have raised approximately £300 for
the Leukaemia Research Fund.
A keen member of her local running club, Fiona has no plans for another
marathon in the immediate future but is hoping to take part in the
lesser-known Great South Run, based in Portsmouth, in September 2003.
