Tuition Fee Deposits for Overseas Postgraduate Students
Overseas self-funded or privately funded postgraduates are required to pay a
non-refundable tuition fee deposit in accordance with
University of Essex policy before you will be assigned a Confirmation of
Acceptance of Studies for a Tier 4 Student Visa.

How much is my deposit?
The minimum deposit is one term’s fee of the annual tuition fee for your course of study
Overseas Postgraduate students will see the annual fee and the minimum deposit required in their
myEssex applicant portal.

Alternative ways to Pay
- You can pay your deposit online, below, using a credit or debit card. You may make several smaller payments to the total value of the minimum deposit.
- Alternatively, you may use the University Pay by Wire service
- You can make a bank transfer and tell us about the payment here so we can track and assign your payment.
- Please quote your PRID number in payment transactions when asked.
